Novillera Olga Casado, protagonist of Vistalegre: "Men and women are different, except when it comes to risking our lives"

I'm proud of being a woman, and I don't want to look like a man in the arena," she says.

She is the big name for the rest of the season. An influence at the 'Festival for Valencia' at the Palacio Vistalegre, winning in charity and bullfighting. We're talking about Olga Casado, a student at the José Cubero Community Bullfighting School 'Yiyo' in Madrid, who has jumped into the big media after cutting off two ears and a tail from a Garcigrande bull. Apart from the prizes, and importantly, the important thing was his manner, which is still more present than future.

It was without doubt the most special and important day of my career so far. It was a dream to share a bullfight with bullfighting stars", Olga Casado affirms in the first question. Her face radiates excitement and happiness. There is also a permanence and awareness of the moment. Enjoyment, but the awareness that it is only the first step on a path that is just beginning.

Because I woke up nervous, I lived the day very intensely. I knew it was the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn't let it slip away. An event of this caliber doesn't happen every day, and it was challenging to perform at such a demanding level as it is when you are announced as a bullfighting star. It was and was a day to dream about," says Olga Casado.

It was an exceptional Garcigrande novillo that helped me fight the way I know how. It is still too early to define my concept, but I always try to fight bulls slowly and as cleanly as possible. This is the kind of bullfighting I want to show the whole world. I am very happy that my Tauromaca reached the Vistalegre bullring and that so many fans were moved," he asserts.

I dedicate myself with my body and soul to fight for my dream: to be the best female bullfighter in history. Bullfighting is a profession dominated by the male gender, but I don't want to get away from being the woman I am. I am proud of being a woman and I hope I never look like a man in the ring. I want them to feel that I am a woman, even though there are so many things that separate us, from the physical, emotional... But the bull doesn't make the difference. That's the beauty of it. Men and women are different, except when it comes to risking our lives," says Olga Casado.

From woman to woman. From model to model. From feminist to feminist. This could be the definition of Olga Casado's toast to Isabel Díaz Ayuso. She is a woman I greatly admire and a mirror from which I look at myself. I think this is something my whole generation has in common. Not only because of what she has achieved at a political level, but also because she is a woman who always overcomes all the blows that people want to deal her day after day. For me, she is without a doubt a true leader".

We spoke to Olga Casado about life and values. I always think about what you give to life so that life rewards you. I am guided by the values of discipline, hard work, effort and perseverance... one day at a time. I see my friends and family once a month, if at all. Our lives are very different, but I feel that the world of bullfighting demands just that from me. I give all my time, my youth, my laughter with my friends to bullfighting. The other day, everything behind it came true".

And is it worth it, we asked. No doubt about it. For a moment, I was the happiest person in the world. I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything. Now I hope that this is just the beginning of a very beautiful time for me and for the world of bullfighting. I hope that young people will see me as a role model and role model. I want to make my official debut with the Picadores in 2025, hopefully at the beginning of the season. But for now, my concern is how many hours of training I have time to grow as a bullfighter and as a person. That is my real concern," concludes Olga Casado.
