Bullfighting is well back in 2019 figures in Spain. Until June 2019, 160 bullfights were held in Spain. Until the end of June 2022, 152 bullfights have taken place in Spain, to which must be added the bullfights of San Pedro celebrations, which have not yet been added to the figures. In the long term, coronavirus was not able to affect the organisation of bullfights. The figures are good but they cannot hide the fact that in 2019 there were 57% fewer bullfights in Spain than in 2007. It is impossible to hide that figure.
It is still difficult to estimate the attendance of the public in the arenas. The bullfights in Olivenza, Seville and Las Ventas in Madrid have enjoy of good attendance. As for the rest of the bullfighting season, which is now under way, it is still difficult to obtain information which will always be shrouded in the usual obscurity until the figures are published at the end of the season.
